Go! Garrett County

The Garrett County Health Department is working with various state and local partners to bring vaccination clinics into the communities.

“It may seem like there are vaccine clinics popping up everywhere, and that’s basically true,” said Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens. “As vaccine supply has increased, so has the offer for help from various state and federal agencies. Bringing the vaccine into the communities is the best way to make sure everyone who wants a vaccine is able to get it.”

Over the next several weeks there will be clinics in many communities. All the clinics are under the broad umbrella of the Maryland GoVAX campaign. Although various clinics are coordinated by different agencies, they all have the same goal of getting vaccines into the arms of people.

“It doesn’t matter if you schedule an appointment at our traditional vaccine site at MEDCO, or if you go to the Mobile Clinic at GCC Technologies, or attend one of the community clinics, or go to a local provider or pharmacy. What’s important is that you get your vaccination!” Stephens said. “You have so many choices now, so just pick one and get it done. We need everyone to do their part.”

Vaccination appointments continue to be available at MEDCO each Tuesday and Thursday unless otherwise announced. Appointments may be scheduled at garretthealth.org or call 301-334-7698 for assistance.

The GoVAX Mobile Clinic will be open at GCC Technologies Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and again next Tuesday through Saturday, May 4 -8. Links to schedule appointments are available on garretthealth.org, but walk-ins are accepted.
