Community Planning Groups

Community Planning Groups (CPGs) are non-profit groups that plan and implement family-friendly events that promote healthy lifestyle choices like physical activity and healthy eating, and discourage high risk behaviors like underage and binge drinking, tobacco and nicotine use, and opioid and prescription drug misuse. The groups that are currently active in Garrett County are Accident Community Planning Group, Club 21550, Friendsville Community Watch, and Mountain Lake Partners. Each receives a mini-grant from the Garrett County Health Department to provide community-based family activities that include a prevention message.
