The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to assist the Garrett County Health Department in the mission of promoting, protecting, and improving the health of the county citizens. The position provides in-home support services through intensive home visiting to pregnant women and children up to five years of age under the Healthy Families America home visiting program(s) to improve birth outcomes, strengthen families, cultivate nurturing parent child relationships, promote child health and developmental outcomes, promote family stability, build foundations for strong family functioning, and promote positive parenting practices. Services enable individuals to maintain independence and well-being, assist in preserving the family structure, promote functional home environments, and teach clients how to access and utilize available community resources. The position, with guidance from the program supervisor, works to improve parenting skills, reduce family stress, and meet the ongoing needs of the family unit to achieve optimal functioning. This position will also promote family and child health through education and referral. The position will collaborate with other health professionals and community agencies to support families and children’s optimal health, nutrition, safety, and development.

ACCOUNTANT II
This position will perform the accounting functions of the LBHA & LMB of Garrett County as well as assist in performing the accounting functions of the Garrett County Health Department, including examining and reporting financial status and reports to ensure the sound fiscal operation of the agency; includes preparation, monitoring, and auditing of contracts with sub-vendors for compliance with State and Federal MOUs, and monitoring, analyzing, and reporting expenditures in all applicable systems. This position also serves as backup for performing all duties for the Accountant Supervisor, specifically overseeing invoice processing and journal entry creation.
