Mountain Lake Partners hosted a bowling night for residents of Mountain Lake Park and the surrounding area on Tuesday, March 14th. Despite the snowy weather, 42 residents showed up for the event, with 32 of them bowling. The group is partially funded by the Garrett County Health Department to provide alcohol and tobacco-free events in the community and provide positive health education. This month’s message was improving health by drinking more water and eating more fiber. Participants enjoyed free pizza, shoe rentals, and two hours of bowling. “These events are a great way to get to know your neighbors and create a community bond,” said Ellen Cowgill member of the planning group. Member Gerry Duket distributed thank you bags to the participants. Mountain Lake Partners is planning a summer kickoff party for June 4th at the splash pad in Mountain Lake Park. This free event will include games, music, a bounce house, and trolley rides. A food truck will be available. For information about upcoming event, find Mtn. Lake Partners on Facebook.
