By Diane Lee, Public Information Officer, Garrett County Health Department
Tiffany Fratz has worked in various divisions within the health department over the years including AERS, Personal Health, Local Management Board/Local Behavioral Health Authority. She is now the Program Director for Adult Evaluation and Review Services (AERS), and she would like to end her career in the same Department as it began.
“September 2023 marked my 27th year at the Health Department, and shockingly, I am only 38 years old.” Tiffany said with a smile. “The best part of my job is meeting individuals from different backgrounds and ‘walks of life’ and being able to learn something from all of them. I believe that everyone is able to teach you something if you are willing to learn.”
Prior to her career with the Garrett County Health Department, she worked at Deep Creek Lake Recreational Area as an Office Clerk for six years.
Tiffany received an associate of arts degree from Garrett College and a bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University. She feels her greatest accomplishment has been her promotion to director-level, first in Personal Health and then in AERS.
Her hobbies include reading, attending plays, visiting historical sites, garden parties, crafting, antiques, attending auctions, interior design, creating flower gardens, and hosting get-togethers with friends.
Tiffany’s favorite quote, “For every minute you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness,” Ralph Waldo Emerson
