Did you know your child should have a blood lead level test completed at 12 months and 24 months old? This is the best way to know if your child is being exposed to lead. Lead exposure can cause slowed growth and development, difficulty learning, and damage to the child’s nervous system. Great news is this is 100% preventable!
For any questions on lead safety, please call Garrett County Health Department Early Care Programs at 301-334-7720 or 301-895-3111 to speak with our Lead Case Management Nurse, Jaice Jones, RN.
