Health Department Announces Community Flu and Pneumonia Vaccine Clinics
The Garrett County Health Department (GCHD) will hold walk-in community flu clinics on the following dates and locations:
- GCHD (Oakland office at 1025 Memorial Drive) on October 3 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Friendsville Senior Center on October 16 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- GCHD (Grantsville office at 28 Hershberger Lane) on October 18 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Kitzmiller Senior Center on October 23 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- GCHD (Oakland office) on October 24 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Swanton Senior Center on October 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Bloomington Fire Hall on October 28 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
- GCHD (Oakland location) on November 14 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
- GCHD (Grantsville location) on November 15 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
The health department will bill insurance carriers including Medicare Part B.Β Insurance cards should be brought to the clinic.Β There will be no out-of-pocket costs for the flu shots for anyone, regardless of insurance status.Β Uninsured persons are welcome to receive a flu shot at one of these clinics.Β Pneumonia vaccine will also be available at the clinics, but only for those with Medicare Part B.Β Others who want pneumonia vaccine should call the health department at 301-334-7770 or 301 895-3111 to schedule an appointment to get the vaccine at the health department.
