Go! Garrett County

By Garrett County Joint Information Center Team

Today the Garrett County Health Department announced that COVID-19 vaccine registration is opened up to all Garrett County residents who fit into the Phase 1 priority group. Visit https://bit.ly/md-phases to review Maryland’s COVID-19 vaccination priority groups. Anyone who wishes to receive the vaccine, regardless of where they fit into the priority groups designated by the state, is asked to fill out an interest form on the Health Department website.

“Our records show that Garrett County has now vaccinated more than 50% of residents who are age 65 or older, so we are ready to move to scheduling anyone not yet vaccinated in Phase 1,” said Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens. “Starting today, we are switching to using the new interest form to offer vaccination appointments directly to eligible individuals as openings become available. This will take the place of open links on the website, so it’s very important to fill out an interest form.”

The Garrett County COVID-19 Vaccination Interest Form is available on garretthealth.org and is easy to fill out. For those unable to access the interest form, call 301-334-7698 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for assistance. The form may be filled out by any Garrett County resident, regardless of their current qualification status.

NOTE: Completing the interest form does NOT create an appointment to be vaccinated. It may take several weeks, or longer, until participants are contacted to schedule an appointment because of limited vaccine supply.

Other vaccination sites in Garrett County include CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart pharmacies who receive shipments of vaccine directly.
