GCHD Announces Winners of April kNOwDRINKING.net Contest

The Health Education and Outreach division of the Garrett County Health Department held a contest on their kNOwDRINKING.net Facebook page recently. Participants were asked to answer the question, “What is your favorite fun thing to do with friends or family that doesn’t include alcohol?”

Four winners were randomly chosen from the participants who commented with their favorite alcohol-free activity during the April contest.

The winners and their comments were:

Wilma Friend – likes to get together with family

Dorothy Stemple – likes to take her nephews fishing and go on nature walks

Katelyn Maust Hall – likes to meet for coffee dates

Joyce Calhoun – likes to go swimming 

More than 70 Facebook followers participated in the contest and listed the activities they enjoy without alcohol. 

A May contest is currently underway on the kNOwDrinking.net website and Facebook page. Take the Talk it UP. Lock it UP! Pledgeto store and monitor your alcohol.  Winners of this contest will be chosen randomly, and announced after the contest ends on May 31^st. 

Talk it Up. Lock it Up! is administered by the Garrett County Health Department with funds from Maryland Department of Health and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
