Go! Garrett County

Flu season is among us but there are many ways you can help protect yourself and your family against influenza and other circulating respiratory illnesses. September or October is the best time to get a flu and COVID-19 shot fromĀ Garrett County’s Flu ClinicĀ or from your health provider. As respiratory viruses such as influenza, RSV, and COVID-19 continue to impact our communities, you can keep yourself informed by visiting theĀ Garrett County Respiratory Disease DashboardĀ (https://garretthealth.org/ri-dashboard/) each week. The dashboard displays the percent of hospital visits that were due to respiratory illnesses reported in patients that live in Garrett County for this flu season and past flu seasons since 2019.

Additionally, you can learn more about respiratory diseases circulating throughout Maryland by checking theĀ Maryland FluWatchĀ dashboard.

Staying up to date on your vaccinations, practicing good hand hygiene, and staying home when sick are all important ways to reduce the spread of illness during respiratory season.
