Is your child’s car seat buckled into your vehicle correctly? Do you have the right car seat for your child’s weight and age? When should you turn your child forward facing? What if you are doing something wrong?
The Garrett County Child Passenger Safety Team has scheduled at car seat checkup event at the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on March 3rd.
Certified car seat technicians will complete a check-list to determine if your car seat selection is correct, and then teach you how to install and use it correctly.
Appointments are strongly suggested and will take approximately 45 minutes per car seat. Please pre-install the seat or seats to the best of your ability and bring the owner’s manuals for both your car seat and your vehicle.
To make an appointment, call the Garrett County Health Department Early Care Program at 301-334-7720, or visit https://tinyurl.com/westmd20. This website also lists future car seat checks. The event is supported by the Maryland Kids In Safety Seat Program. #mdcarseats
