The Garrett County Local Behavioral Health Authority/Local Management Board is sponsoring the 2026 Trauma Informed Care Summit. The training is scheduled for May 26, 2026, at the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College.
The training will be presented by Lisa Ferentz, MSW, LCSW-C, DAPA, a recognized expert in the strengths-based, de-pathologized treatment of trauma, the following areas will be covered:
- Explore the connection between our efficacy as helping professionals and the extent to which we are intentional about addressing stress and taking care of ourselves personally.
- Discuss the manifestations of affect dysregulation and the impact of untreated stress.
- Address the dynamics and risk factors that set us up for vicarious traumatization in the workplace & learn about the warning signs and how it affects us.
- Explore creative modalities designed to increase self-compassion, positive self-talk, and the utilization of somatic resourcing to address stress and burnout.
