Cassie Collins, RN, BSN has been selected as Employee of the Quarter at the Garrett County Health Department!
Cassie is the Acting Director of the Garrett County Health Department’s Home Health Unit and was nominated because of her initiative, dedication, and determination to ensure high-quality care for patients.
Cassie’s coworkers provided glowing recommendations of her service and character:
“She has been the acting director of her unit for just a few months. In that time she has shown initiative and care in regards to the unit, the employees and her budget. […] She is on call even during her vacation. […] She never leaves her staff behind.”
“She shows up to work with a smile and ready to tackle the day. Recently, she came to the office to realize that [two] of her front staff were teleworking, one called off sick and the other was on vacation. She worked alone to answer calls, take care of referrals and do her normal daily tasks. She is always right in it with her employees, never making them feel like she is superior. She can do all the tasks needed to help in the office or in the field. She also often sees patients when another nurse needs to be off or out, without hesitation or frustration.”
“She not only fixes the problem but works to fix the error, find the route to the problem, provides leadership and help notes which helps the team be more efficient.”
In addition, Cassie recently collaborated with Julie Sanders, Grant Writer at the Garrett County Health Department, to secure a competitive grant award that will further enhance access and service delivery for patients in Garrett County.
Garrett County Health Officer Jennifer Hare added the following heartfelt comments commending Cassie’s superb work, “As Acting Director, Cassie has made tremendous progress in improving the processes and procedures in Home Health, both administratively and clinically. Her openness to new ideas, such as our new remote patient monitoring grant, will help position Home Health to be better able to serve Garrett County. I am excited to see the staff coming together in support of both Cassie and the program.”
Please join our team at the Garrett County Health Department in congratulating Cassie on this achievement, as we thank her for her hard work and the impact she has on our community every day!
