By Alisha Martin, Program Coordinator
The Garrett County Health Department’s Overdose Response Program provides Naloxone (Narcan) to the public free of charge. Naloxone can be used to reverse an overdose caused by street opioids such as heroin or fentanyl, or prescription opioids such as hydrocodone or oxycodone. Community members may stop by our office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., call 301-334-7730 to schedule an alternate pickup time, or let us know their location so Outreach staff can drop off supplies. We also offer mail delivery of Narcan upon request.
In addition, free Fentanyl and Xylazine test strips are available through the program.
Remember: When using drugs, have a safety plan, and never use alone.
