Farmers Market Nutrition Program for WIC Participants

This year, the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) will look a little different for Garrett County WIC. Instead of participants receiving electronic FMNP benefits to spend at local farmers markets, the benefits will come in boxes filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables.

As a WIC participant, you could be eligible to receive two boxes filled with fruits and vegetables from local farmers/growers. Each box will be pre-packed by our local growers and valued at $15 each.

You will have the opportunity to choose two different dates to pick up your boxes. For example, you could choose to pick up a box at the end of July and a box at the beginning of September since fruits and vegetables will vary as we move through the season.

Please complete this short survey if you are interested in receiving this benefit. If you are eligible, your name will be put on a list to complete a second survey to schedule pick ups. Benefits will be issued on a “first come, first served” basis. WIC is capable of providing FMNP benefits to about 150 participants so don’t wait! This survey will close June 13, 2025.
