Garrett County Health Department and Healthy Together Team Up With the Ruth Enlow Libraries of Garrett County to Reduce Food Insecurity

On February 21st, the Garrett County Health Department’s Go!+ Harvest Hub Meal Box & Voucher program provided free food vouchers to families in need at the Grantsville Branch of the Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County. One hundred food vouchers were allocated to the Casselman Market in Grantsville. Each voucher was worth $50 to be spent on food resource needs.

“This project was made possible by Healthy Together and our partners at AHEC West with funds from the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission,” said Shelley Argabrite, Director of Population Health, Innovation, and Informatics. “We are very thankful to Library Director Thomas Vose and the staff at the Grantsville library. Their assistance and the use of their facility made the distribution run smoothly.”

Future distributions will be announced and available for order on GoGarrettCountyPlus.com. The next distribution is currently scheduled to occur in Bloomington for those placing an order while supplies last.
