Jessica Carey, MSN Ed., CRNP

Meet Jessica, a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for public health. Jess began her career as a Home Health Aide, working her way through LPN school. She gained valuable experience at Meyersdale Medical Center and in long-term care before earning her RN from Allegany College of Maryland. At UPMC Western Maryland (formerly Western Maryland Regional Medical Center), she worked in the ER and Infectious Disease departments. Jess then served as a school health nurse for Garrett County Public Schools, all while completing her BSN and MSN in Nursing Education at WGU. She began helping at the Health Department during COVID-19 with testing and vaccines, and she became fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with Communicable Diseases and Family Planning here at the Health Department. During that time, she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner Certification through Walden University. With a strong clinical and public health foundation, Jess is committed to providing exceptional care for her community.
