Garrett County Food Network
Go! Garrett County

By Shelley Argabrite, Director of Population Health, Innovation, & Informatics

Garrett County educators are invited to a special evening event to relax, explore stress-relieving tools, and improve their health and wellness. Teaching the next generation is no small task, and the Garrett County Health Department is honored to show appreciation to our dedicated teachers.

The workshop, RELAX, is designed and taught by Tina Cimino Dick as a unique and tailored offering through GoGarrettCounty.com. The workshop will be held at Stonecroft Manor on the enclosed patio on September 19, 2024, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Class size is limited, so teachers are encouraged to register early to ensure their spot by visiting https://gcyogaworks.com/fall-events.

This event is part of a larger initiative to improve access to physical activity and support community connectedness. The program portfolio designed by the Population Health, Innovation, and Informatics Unit at the Garrett County Health Department has served thousands of Garrett County residents at free events, empowering community members to connect and participate in activities at no cost.

“We’re thrilled to participate in this program as our staff continues to gain information to support their well-being on GoGarrettCounty.com,” said Dr. Brenda McCartney.

Educators are vital to a healthy, thriving community, and their work directly impacts our community’s health outcomes.

As programming expands in 2024 and beyond, the Garrett County Health Department is continuing to look for new partners to provide community-based services to combat chronic diseases. These initiatives are designed to increase reinvestment in local businesses and organizations to improve health outcomes.

Community members are invited to register for a free account at GoGarrettCounty.com to participate in many additional activities and earn prizes on their well-being journey.
