Additional Location for Medication Disposal Available
Residents of Garrett County have a new location where they can properly dispose of medication. A permanent drop box has been added at the Oakland Town Hall for disposal of prescription and over-the-counter pills and patches. Drop boxes are also available in the lobbies of the Sheriffβs Office and the Maryland State Police barrack. Pictured above at the new drop box locations from left to right are Oakland Town Police Officer Cody Murphy, Sadie Liller and Sandy Miller from the Garrett County Health Department prevention program, and Oakland City Police Chief Bill Thomas. For more information contact the health department at 301-334-7730 or 301-895-3111. Prescription drug misuse prevention efforts are partially funded by the Behavioral Health Administration and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
