Garrett County Commissioners signed two proclamations on Monday recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month and Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week in Garrett County. Standing in back and receiving the proclamations from left to right are Director of Garrett County Behavioral Health Authority Fred Polce, Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens, Southern High School Junior Leah Wilt, and Garrett County Child and Adolescent Workgroup Chair Dr. Karl Schawlm. In recognition of Mental Health Month, a county-wide campaign will be running throughout the month of May to increase awareness of behavioral health resources and connect community stakeholders with local providers.
