Public Health Week Celebrated

The Garrett County Commissioners signed a proclamation on Monday in support of National Public Health Week, April 2-8, 2018. This year’s observance focuses on the collective power to change our future by celebrating the power of prevention, advocating for healthy and fair policies, sharing strategies for successful partnerships, and championing the role of a strong public health system. Pictured left to right are Commissioners Paul Edwards, Jim Hinebaugh, and Larry Tichnell. Representatives from each division of the Health Department attended to show their support including in the center row: Marianne Vaughn, Charee Reckner, and Lorrie Filsinger-Miller, all from Home Health. In the back row are Fred Polce, Garrett County Behavioral Health Authority/Local Management Board; Brenda Sisler, Health Education and Outreach; Carol Bass, WIC; Bob Stephens, Health Officer; Katie Welch, Early Care; Shelley Argabrite, Population Health Unit; Les McDaniel, Behavioral Health; and Steve Sherrard, Environmental Health.
