Be aware of what’s in your home.
Adults should monitor or regularly inventory any alcohol being stored in the home. During the current global pandemic, alcohol purchases have increased by approximately 55%.
Being at home more has given our youth easier access to alcohol. Due to our current situation, itmakes it even more important to communicatewith our children about alcohol dangers.
Explain to your child that turning to alcohol is not an acceptable coping mechanism, and it can even delay certain stages of brain development.
Some better ways to cope with stress would bestaying active, starting a new hobby, communicating with family and friends, and getting involved in the community.
Work together to find ways to volunteer andhelp others, even if it is from home.
