The Garrett County Health Department welcomes Kelly Rock, a nationally board certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, to their Behavioral Health Program.

“We are very fortunate to have Kelly Rock as a part of our Behavioral Health team,” said Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens. “Kelly’s vast knowledge and credentials will allow our program to better serve our clients in whatever capacity will help them achieve a better quality of life.”

“Kelly will be seeing clients in Behavioral Health for medication management and medication evaluations as well as providing medication for opioid use disorders, MOUD services,” said Jennifer Brenneman, Director of Behavioral Health. “These services are important components of our programs, and we are looking forward to having Kelly as a full time provider on staff.”

Rock practiced as a registered nurse for over 10 years, then went on to complete graduate and doctoral level training and earned national certification. Since beginning her career as a nurse practitioner in 2007, she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in psychiatric diagnostic reasoning and medication management.

In addition to her work in various psychiatric clinical setting as a nurse practitioner, she currently serves as co-director of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland, Mountain District, and is an active member in the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, International Society of Psychiatric Nurses, and American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Most recently, Rock served as Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Garrett Regional Medical Center.
