It’s Bicycling Season at Kitzmiller’s Head Start Center

Staff from the Garrett County Health Department visited Kitzmiller Head Start as a component of a mini-grant to promote wellness in the Center. Mike Wilburn and Heather Berg from the Health Department taught the Head Start students how to properly fit and wear their bicycle helmets and also gave them safe riding tips. “In an effort to provide our students with more opportunities for indoor and outdoor physical activity, we used some of our mini-grant funds to purchase some bike helmets and we wanted to make sure the kids were using them properly,” stated Mark Rodeheaver, the Center’s director.
