Healthcare Heroes Day to Be Celebrated on Saturday
By Garrett County Joint Information Center Team
Garrett County is joining the rest of Maryland in celebrating Saturday, May 2, as Healthcare Heroes Day, as initiated by Governor Larry Hogan.
“We truly want to thank everyone in healthcare for the outstanding job they are doing during the coronavirus crisis,” said Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens. “Everyone has been working together as a team to plan and carry out the strategies needed to help keep Garrett County safe in this pandemic.”
The Garrett County Joint Information Center has collected pictures of our county’s Healthcare Heroes to honor them for working on the frontlines during this crisis. It’s not always easy to recognize the people behind the PPE (personal protective equipment) that has become even more of a necessity than normal.

“There was no way for us to get pictures of everyone who deserves to be honored, but if you work in healthcare in any form, we thank you for what you do,” said Stephens, “and we pray for your safety as you continue to lead the way as we win the fight against COVID-19.”
