The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recently updated their recommendation for colorectal cancer screening by lowering the age to 45. The Garrett County Health Department Cancer Program is now able to offer this service to Garrett County residents. Screening would include either a colonoscopy or FIT testing for those that are eligible. In addition, the Cancer Screening Program will continue to offer colonoscopies for those under the age of 45 with symptoms or certain risk factors. Please call the Garrett County Health Department at 301-334-7770 for more information.
