Accident Fishing Rodeo

FISHING IS A FAMILY AFFAIR – More than 125 participants attended the annual Accident Fishing Rodeo on May 19, at the Accident Town Pond. “The weather was cool, but those who were fishing didn’t mind at all,” said Sharon Custer, Garrett County Health Department Outreach Worker. “This year’s fishing was so much better than other years because the town cleaned out the pond and there was lots of space for people to fish.”  The Accident Planning Group partnered with the Wild Turkey Federation, The Rolling Pin Bakery LLC, and Tri-State Sanitation to sponsor the event. Pictured above are the Humbert family, Laura, and Sonny, and their boys, Lane and Reed fishing, while daughter Avery is cozy in the stroller. Activities of community planning groups are supported in part by funds from the Garrett County Health Department to promote healthy living and prevent risky behaviors.
