Health Department Scheduling Flu Clinics In Garrett County Public Schools

Sep 11, 2017 | Press Releases

The Garrett County Health Department will be offering injectable flu vaccine to students in Middle and High Schools in school based clinics this Fall. Parents will receive a packet of information and a consent form in the coming weeks.

Because flu shots are not being offered in the Elementary Schools (and the nasal-based FluMistยฎ is not available), parents of elementary students are invited and encouraged to accompany their child to one of the walk-in community clinics being scheduled in Oakland and Grantsville.ย  Watch for announcements of these clinics soon. Parents are asked to bring an insurance card for their child if insured, but those without insurance, or whose insurance does not cover flu vaccine, will have no out-of-pockets costs for the vaccine at these clinics.

For more information, call the Garrett County Health Department at 301 334-7770 or 301 895-3111.
