Large Baby Supply Donation Received By GCHD Early Care Programs
The Garrett County Health Department Early Care Programs received a large number of baby items donated by county residents and organized by Shannon O’Brien, a Bachelor Student in Social Work at Brescia University. O’Brian was working on a Public Issue Project and coordinated with GCHD Early Care Programs to provide baskets full of baby care items, diapers, and wipes to prenatal women who are participating in the Early Care Programs home visiting services. Collection sites were established throughout Garrett County, including GCC Technologies, Crossroads Church, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Parish, St. Peter at the Lake Center, and Garrett Information Enterprise Center. “We are very grateful to Shannon and all who donated supplies,” said Michelle Ford, RN from Early Care. “The items will be a great help to the families we serve.” Pictured above from left to right are Linda Welch, RN; Jodi Roberson, RN; Shannon O’Brien; Michelle Ford, RN; and Katie Welch, RN.
