Water & Wells
The Office of Environmental Health is dedicated to assisting well owners with regulations, construction, and potable water standards. It achieves this by regulating the permitting, construction, and certification of private drinking water, as outlined in COMAR 26.04.04.
Our office offers water testing services for privately owned wells and springs in Garrett County that are in service to commercial and residential buildings. Testing can be for newly drilled wells, general inquiry, or a doctor’s referral due to illness. Water testing is only conducted on Tuesdays and the fee is $30.
