Breastfeeding your infant has many benefits for all involved. Possibly one of the most significant benefits is that breastfeeding has been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. If you are not sure where to start, the Early Care Programs offers free breastfeeding classes. You may also speak with a board-certified lactation consultant regarding breastfeeding.
