Are you a soda drinker? If you are, then this challenge is for you! During the month of November, try to go as many days as you can without drinking any soda, regular or diet. Soda is considered an empty calorie food. There are lots of calories in regular soda since most 12-ounce cans contain at least 10 teaspoons of sugar, but there is no nutritional value in this very popular choice of beverage. No calcium, no protein, no vitamin C, D, or A. The same is true of diet soda. There may be no sugar or calories in diet soda, but there is also no nutritional value. Drink water instead! Even though water also has no calcium, protein, or vitamins, water is something our bodies need daily. Remember 60-70% of our body is made up of water. So, say “No” to soda in November, drink more water instead, and participate in the “No Soda November Challenge!”
