2019 Garrett County Family Fun Festival

Mar 19, 2019 | Community News, Health Fair 2019

The Seventeenth Annual Family Fun Festival, which commemorates the Month of the Young Child, will be held in conjunction with the Garrett County Health Fair on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Garrett College CARC, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This year the Family Fun Festival encourages parents to be their child’s “Super Hero” as we celebrate “Super Heroes and Princesses.”  Children are welcome to come dressed as their favorite superhero or princess. Special local “superheroes” will be visiting throughout the day.

“The Family Fun Festival/Health Fair promises to be a day full of fun hands-on activities, free give-a-ways, and valuable information and resources,” said Barbara Unger, Garrett County Judy Center Partnership Manager. “New this year, children who visit the various agencies and have their card signed will have a chance to win one of eight brand new bicycles with helmets!”

The event promotes healthy family-oriented activities that assist families in helping their children learn and be successful in school. Information about the various services available for young children and their families will be available, and staff will be on hand to answer questions.

The Month of the Young Child is celebrated across the country by hundreds of local organizations working to improve opportunities for all young children.

“The Month of the Young Child is a time to recognize the importance of early learning for all young children, and to bring Garrett County together to help give our children a great start,” said Unger. “In conjunction with the Month of the Young Child, the Family Fun Festival also allows us to honor and celebrate our young children and all those who make a difference in the lives of children and families throughout Garrett County.”

Families are also encouraged to take advantage of the screenings and presentation and visit the many booths at the Garrett County Health Fair. Both events are free of charge, and no reservations are required.  For more information contact The Garrett County Judy Center, 301-334-4211 or visit Garrett County Health Fair on Facebook for up to date information.
