By Diane Lee, Public Information Officer, Garrett County Health Department
The Garrett County Health Department offices will be closed on Friday, June 18, 2021, in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day. Governor Larry Hogan announced Thursday that Maryland would honor Saturday, June 19, as a holiday, serving as a historical and memorable tribute to our countryβs African American Heritage. Because the National holiday is on Saturday, government agencies and offices will be closed on Friday, June 18th. All routine clinics at the Health Department will be closed. However, the COVID-19 vaccination clinic scheduled for Friday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grantsville Outreach Center of the Health Department will continue as planned, with both first and second doses being administered. Walk-in appointments are accepted and encouraged. The Health Department Offices will reopen on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 8 a.m.
