Oakland, MD — 9/16/2016 — CARF International announced that the Garrett County Health Department’s Center for Behavioral Health has been accredited for a period of three years for its Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Treatment programs. This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to health and human services organizations and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
“Our clinical and administrative staff are highly qualified, and provide the highest standard of care for our clients and patients,” said Bob Stephens, Director of Behavioral and Family Health at the Garrett County Health Department. “We could not have achieved CARF accreditation without the hard work and support of our staff and administration.” The Garrett County Center for Behavioral Health is the only accredited outpatient behavioral health treatment program in the county.
The Health Department’s Center for Behavioral Health has offices in Oakland and Grantsville, providing services such as individual and group treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and recovery support services.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
