COVID-19 Testing Update for Garrett County Health Department

The Garrett County Health Department is using a new testing lab to process COVID-19 tests collected at their testing site. CIAN Diagnostics of Frederick, Maryland, will now provide COVID-19 lab services for all testing done by the Garrett County Health Department. It is anticipated that the change in labs will result in faster delivery of lab specimens and quicker turnaround time for test results.

The new system will also allow patients to schedule their own appointments by going to garretthealth.org. This will speed up scheduling, especially with the ongoing phone issues associated with the network security incident at Maryland Department of Health earlier in December.

A button labeled “Schedule Your COVID-19 Testing Appointment” is available in the yellow bar on garretthealth.org. When the button is clicked, you will be redirected to CIAN Diagnostics website where you can create an account. Once your account is created, click on the “+New Appointment” button to schedule your date and time for a test. Because you used the unique link on garretthealth.org, you will automatically be in the Garrett County Health Department appointment scheduling section. Use the blue arrows to move forward and backward through the available testing dates. Your account will allow you to log on to schedule a new test as needed, and to see your result when it is available.

Testing is done at the Garrett County Health Department at 1025 Memorial Drive, Oakland, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
